WHEN MIGHT YOU NEED DENTAL CARE FROM A PROSTHODONTIST?
Prosthodontists specialise in restorative dentistry and are the people to see if you have damaged or missing teeth, or if you require dental implants or dentures.
MEET OUR PROSTHODONTISTS
Our Specialist Prosthodontists are Neel Patel and Vinit Gohil, both of whom have an impressive number of qualifications and skills.
Neel’s areas of expertise include replacing teeth with dental implants, digital and guided dental implant surgery, bone grafting and regenerative techniques, as well as all aspects of restorative dentistry. His extensive training both here in the U.K and in the U.S.A, and clinical experience means Neel can treat complications that may develop with implant treatment, and he often receives referrals from other dentists. He also worked in the Community Dental Service where he was responsible for treating children and adults with special needs and extremely nervous patients. Neel regularly lectures on dental implants dentistry and holds a part-time clinical teaching fellow post in the Prosthodontics department of the internationally renowned UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London.
Vinit’s areas of expertise includes dental implants, computer guided implant surgery and bone grafting, and all areas of restorative dentistry. He is also very experienced in managing complications with implants and receives referrals from other dentists for particularly complex restorative cases and for dental implants and bone grafting surgery. Vinit also works part-time as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and is actively involved in teaching postgraduate dentists. All of us here at One The Gallery are very experienced with nervous patients, but Vinit has experience in sedation dentistry and can treat especially anxious and medically compromised patients.
WHEN MIGHT I NEED TO SEE A DENTIST FOR ROOT CANAL TREATMENT?
Endodontics, more commonly known as root canal treatment, treats problems in the inside (known as the pulp) of a tooth, which contains the soft tissues that include blood vessels, nerves and connective tissues. A tooth that is infected or badly inflamed will frequently require endodontic treatment, better known as root canal therapy. Endodontic skills are often needed during full mouth reconstruction, a complex process that restores health to a badly damaged mouth using a combination of specialised dental treatments.
Meet Kajal
Kajal Gohil limits her practice to endodontics and graduated with honours from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ Dental Institute, King’s College London. Kajal has been awarded the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and she holds a Master’s degree in Endodontic Practice. Kajal loves to teach and is a visiting lecturer at the Queen Mary University of London, teaching post-graduate MSc students. She is actively involved in research and is currently working on publishing her research.
WHEN MIGHT I NEED AN ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEON?
An Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon specialises in treating the hard and soft tissues of the head and neck and can treat diseases, injuries and defects in these areas. They can carry out complex wisdom tooth removals and complex tooth extractions.
Meet our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mr Kunmi Fasanmade is our Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and his areas of expertise include removing wisdom teeth and difficult tooth extractions, as well as bone grafting, soft tissue biopsies and dento-alveolar surgery. Kunmi has extensive experience in minor oral surgery and he has a particular interest in head and neck oncology and in managing facial trauma. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he is a Fellow of the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery.
